Lars Bünning, centre-back for Dynamo Dresden, has had to undergo emergency surgery. According to MDR, the 28-year-old suffered a brain haemorrhage to the head and subsequently required emergency surgery.
Following the operation, Bünning is conscious, as Die Welt reports. The exact timing of his return to play is currently unclear – the club is expecting a prolonged absence for the defender.
Der Tagesspiegel confirms that Bünning is under medical care and will need the coming weeks to recover. Dynamo Dresden will therefore have to do without one of its regular defensive players in the 2. Bundesliga. The club has not yet commented on further details of his health condition.
