The tremors were felt over 600 kilometers away and even reached the Balkan Peninsula.

Despite its considerable magnitude, the consequences are expected to be minor. 20 Minuten reports that damage is not expected due to the depth of the earthquake. Although the southern Italian region of Calabria lies in a seismically active zone, the distance to the epicenter and the depth of the quake significantly reduced the risk.
